About

Welcome to YABOSIG – Yust Another Blog Of Some IT Guy @ ideal-digital.org

Yea, it is just another blog. Hopefully usefull to you, if not, please let me know.

My name is Michael Adler and I would call myself a digital native, since I am working with computers and technology since I was 6. Compared to todays kids that might be 3 years late, but I still think it is good enough. As many in my generation I had a C64 and a Amiga 500 before entering the space of PCs (who remembers the facy “turbo” buttons?), writing funny basic programs and tweaking files with the Hex editor to gain unlimited lives in the early games.
Since 2001 I work professionaly in SW engineering, with a basis of C++ and Java programming, full stack, we call this today. I was doing solution business, platform business and product business in several roles, mainly focusing on SW architecture, technical strategy and DevOps. Also, I covered several business domains like logistics, remote services and IOT. Today, I work as a solution architect in the cloud computing business.

I decided to set up this blog to share some of my insights with you. The internet helped my in so many cases, with content provided in blogs, forums and personal web pages so that I want to return the favor now. Finally. All information in this blog is based on my experience, with my personal flavor of seeing the world and is intended to be neutral – in particular none of my writing does represent the opinion of any commercial company or organization. It is purly my opinion and experience, that I share here.

It is my fundamental conviction that we all have to do more to share experience, provide descriptive guidance and help those people who struggle with the challanges of using SW and data driven technology – and make the digitialization work for everybody. It starts with our kids, helping them to understand risks and chances in the digital age, and it ends with professional SW engineers that want to enhance their knowledge. So, I try to do my part to help people in understanding and seed some thinking where ever possible. Knowing that I also see only a very small part of the world and my ideas might be wrong, of course the disclaimer is: Build your own opinion. I am gratefull for all discussion and feedback so that I also can work on my world view.

You can find the digital twins of my professional self on LinkedIn and Xing.

Why I share all this data and why I am not afraight that it is used against me? I think it is important to have and opinion in life and be vocal about it. Hiding does not help. I am aware that with my profiles on LinkedIn, Xing, the stuff here, my online shopping behavior, my usage of search engines and other data, the big data collectors out there are able to build a pretty complete picture about me. I make it easy for them to profile me. Up to now this did not had a negative impact on me, but helped me to connect to colleagues and maintain my professional networks. So, I stay in good faith, but I am watching closely how data protection laws evolve and how the rights on my own data are treated. So… let’s see.
